To Blog or Not to Blog?

I may use a blog in my future classroom. If I end up using a blog in my classroom, it will be to communicate classroom activities and schedules to parents. I would like for students' families to understand what our class is learning and working on each week to help students expand their learning at home. However, I believe that if a teacher is going to use a classroom blog they should be consistently updating it and creating new posts. I do not plan to use a blog in my future classroom until I feel that I have enough time to manage and update a blog enough so that it is always displaying current information for my students and their families!

A Little Bit About Myself...

I am currently pursuing my elementary education degree through Emporia State University in their Spring 2013 Cohort at Johnson County Community College. I will graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in December 2014 and I cannot wait! In my time outside of school I work at Little Treasures Learning Center in Olathe, KS. I have worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 6 years old. Currently I work in the infant room Monday through Thursday mornings. The little ones are so sweet and I really enjoy spending time with them, but most of all I love spending time with my two year old daughter Sophia and my husband Justin! My family has been extremely supportive of me while I am pursuing my degree and they are looking forward to my future graduation. I am excited for the opportunity to one day work with young students to help them become confident, inquisitive, optimistic, leaders in their generation! For now, I will keep dreaming and looking forward to that day! :)
